How can we help?
Answers to the common questions are below. If yours isn't here, email and you'll hear back from a person — usually within a couple of days.
Playing
How do I aim and putt?
Touch anywhere on the course and drag away from where you want the ball to go, like pulling back a putter. The dots show the first stretch of the roll. The further you pull, the harder the putt. Let go to putt; drag back to the ball to cancel.
The aim dots are gone.
They can be switched off: in the app, open Settings (the gear in the clubhouse) and turn Aim guide back on.
Why did my ball stop after six strokes?
That's the classic putt-putt house rule: six strokes and you pick up. The hole is scored as a 7, so one bad hole never ruins a round.
The ball went in the water.
Water costs one stroke, and the ball goes back to where you hit it from.
Can I stop in the middle of a round?
Yes. Tap the ✕ and choose Pause. The clubhouse shows your paused round at the top — tap Resume to carry on. Holes you've finished are kept; the hole you were on starts again from the tee. You can have one round paused at a time.
What's the translucent ball?
That's your ghost: a replay of your best-ever run on that hole. Beat it to the cup. To hide it, switch off Ghost of your best in Settings.
Medals and courses
How do medals work?
Every hole has a medal: bronze for par, silver for under par, gold for a hole in one. Your best medal on each hole is kept, and shows under that hole in the clubhouse.
How do I open the theme courses?
Theme courses open as your medal count grows: Frost Hollow at 10 medals, Boardwalk at 14, Speedway at 18, Tulip Fields at 24, Lake Country at 30 and Highlands at 36. Medals from any course count — replaying holes to improve them is the quickest way. The Back Nine opens when you finish the Front Nine.
Can I practice one hole?
Yes — Practice a hole in the clubhouse lets you play any hole you've opened, as often as you like. Medals you earn there count.
The Daily Three
What is the Daily Three?
Three holes chosen fresh each day, the same three for everyone. You get one scored try. Play on consecutive days to build a streak.
When does it change?
At midnight where you are, by your iPhone's clock — like the daily word games. The Game Center leaderboard for the Daily Three runs on Apple's schedule and turns over at midnight UTC, so for a few hours around then the two can be on different days.
Game Center
My scores aren't on the leaderboard.
Check you're signed in to Game Center in the iPhone's Settings → Game Center. Greens keeps everything you earn while signed out and sends it the next time you're signed in. Leaderboards can take a few minutes to update.
Greens didn't ask me to sign in.
On purpose — Greens never interrupts a game with Game Center's sign-in. Tap Leaderboards or Achievements in the clubhouse, or Sign in to Game Center in Settings, and it will ask then.
Settings and your data
There's no sound.
Check Sound is on in Greens' Settings, and that your iPhone isn't in silent mode — Greens respects the ring/silent switch and never interrupts music you're playing.
How do I start over?
In Greens, open Settings → Reset progress. This erases your medals, bests, streak and ghosts on this iPhone and can't be undone. Game Center scores already sent stay with Game Center.
Will my progress move to a new iPhone?
Progress is stored on the device. It comes across when you move to a new iPhone using an iCloud or computer backup, or iPhone-to-iPhone transfer. Game Center achievements and leaderboard scores follow your Game Center account.
Does it work on iPhone Duo?
Yes. Open it and the whole hole fills the big screen; close it and keep playing on the outer screen.
Does Greens collect my data?
No. See the privacy policy.
Report a problem
Email bsrossen@gmail.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, the Greens version (in Settings, under About), and what happened — the hole number helps a lot. A screenshot or screen recording is even better.
