Timeline keeps your weddings on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and nothing you import is sent to us.
- Documents are read on your iPhone, including text recognition in photos.
- Looking up a venue asks Apple Maps for that one place.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
Who we are
Timeline by BSR is made by Brian Rossen (BSR Films), an independent developer. In this policy, “we” means Brian Rossen. Questions about privacy go to bsrossen@gmail.com.
What we collect
Nothing. Timeline has no server, no sign-in and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We never receive your timelines, documents, notes, names, venues or contacts.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you add to Timeline is stored in the app’s private storage on your device:
- Weddings and their schedules, notes, moment locations and Instagram handles.
- A copy of each document or photo you import, so you can view the planner’s original later, and the text read from it.
- Your settings, such as your name or company for call times.
Planners’ documents can include other people’s names and details. They stay on your iPhone, protected by iOS file protection. Deleting a wedding deletes its imported document; deleting the app deletes everything. Your data is included in your iPhone’s own backups (iCloud or your computer) according to your device settings.
Documents and photos
Timeline only sees the files and photos you choose to import, through Apple’s own pickers. It doesn’t ask for access to your photo library. Text in photos and screenshots is recognized on your iPhone.
Venue lookup and Maps
To calculate golden hour and sunset and to use the venue’s time zone, Timeline looks up the venue using Apple’s MapKit. The venue name or address you have in Timeline is sent to Apple for that search. When you open a location in Maps or ask for directions, Apple Maps opens. Apple handles these requests under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Timeline doesn’t use your own location.
Widgets, Live Activities and Apple Watch
If you add Timeline’s widgets or start a Live Activity, the next moment and its time appear on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, Dynamic Island and a paired Apple Watch, where anyone who can see the screen can read them. You can remove widgets or stop the Live Activity at any time.
Sharing with other BSR apps on your iPhone
Timeline saves a summary of your weddings — title, date, venue, the schedule, and names and roles of people listed in the planner’s timeline — and your appearance setting in a shared space on your iPhone, so that other apps by the same developer that you choose to install can use them. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Purchases
Timeline by BSR Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes payment; we never see your payment details or Apple Account. The app only checks with Apple whether Pro is active.
If you contact us
If you email support, we receive your message and anything you attach, such as a planner’s document. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you describe, and we don’t share it.
Crash reports
If you turn on Share with App Developers in your iPhone’s Settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. These don’t identify you, and we use them only to fix problems.
Children
Timeline is a tool for working filmmakers and photographers and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If Timeline ever starts collecting data, this page will say what and why before it does.
