Common questions

Where do my recordings go?

Straight to your own Photos library, the moment Photos confirms the save. Teleprompter only asks for permission to add videos there — it can't see anything already in your library. If a save ever fails, the take stays on your device with Try Again and Share, until it's sorted.

What can I import, and from where?

PDF (including scanned pages), Word (.docx), RTF, HTML, plain text, and photos of a printed page — from Files, from Photos, with Scan Paper, or shared in from Mail or another app with the share sheet. Text from a photo or a scanned PDF is recognized on the device.

How do I get the read line closer to the camera?

Setup → Read line has Move to the front camera, which puts the line at the very top of the stage, right under the lens on a regular iPhone. On iPhone Duo, Follow the inner camera pulls the line to wherever the inner lens actually is while it's in use — that one only works on Duo, since a regular iPhone has no way to tell the app where its camera sits.

Can I adjust pace or text size while I'm reading?

Yes — that's what the running order panel is for. Open it from the button next to Setup and it stays on screen through a take: pace, text size and a small nudge to the read line, all live, all without losing your place.

My take stopped a few seconds after I finished reading — is that a bug?

No — that's the tail. Recording keeps going a few seconds after the scroll stops, so the last word doesn't end the video, and there's a moment to cut on. It's adjustable in Setup → Camera, including down to zero if you'd rather it stop at once.

What does iPhone Duo actually add?

Vertical controls that give the text every point of height, the running order on its own region when the device is folded, the read line pulled to the inner camera's actual position, and — while the main camera is filming someone else — the script on the far display so they can read it while you keep the controls. All of it switches on automatically where the hardware supports it and is simply absent everywhere else.

Does Teleprompter need an internet connection?

No. Everything — writing, importing, reading, recording — works fully offline.

Is there a subscription?

No. Teleprompter is a one-time purchase — pay once, and everything in the app is included, with no in-app purchases and no subscription, ever.

Can I use a light theme?

Yes — Night, Paper (light) and Amber are all switchable from inside the prompter itself while you're reading, not just from Setup.

Where is my data stored? How do I delete it?

Everything — scripts, settings, recordings once they're in Photos — stays on your iPhone. Delete a script from the library, or delete the app to remove everything else. See the Privacy Policy.
