Teleprompter by BSR
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 29, 2026
Teleprompter is a paid app with no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not collect any information about you, and nothing you write, import or record is ever sent anywhere.
- Scripts and settings stay in the app's own storage on your iPhone.
- Recordings go straight to your own photo library — Teleprompter never reads what's already there.
- Imports (PDF, Word, text, photos, scans) are read on the device and nothing is uploaded.
Who we are
Teleprompter by BSR is made by Brian Rossen (BSR Films), an independent developer. In this policy, “we” means Brian Rossen. Questions about privacy go to bsrossen@gmail.com.
What we collect
Nothing. Teleprompter has no server, no sign-in and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We never receive your scripts, your settings or your recordings.
What stays on your iPhone
Your scripts and presentation settings — theme, text size, pace, the read line and everything else in Setup — are stored in the app's own storage on your device. They're included in your iPhone's own backups according to your device settings, and deleting the app deletes them. We never see them.
Camera and microphone
Teleprompter uses the camera only while the camera preview is on, while you're recording, or while you're scanning a printed script with Scan Paper. It uses the microphone only while you're recording. Nothing from either leaves your device — there's no server for it to go to.
Recording
A take is saved straight to your own photo library. Teleprompter asks only for permission to add videos there — it can't see or read anything already in your library. If a save fails, the take stays on your device with a clear way to try again or share it, until you deal with it.
Importing scripts
When you import a PDF, Word document, RTF, HTML file, plain text, or a picture — from Files, from Photos, from a scan, or shared from another app such as Mail — the text is read on your phone, including any text recognized in a photo. The file itself isn't kept after the text is taken from it, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
iPhone Duo
On an iPhone Duo, the read line can follow the inner camera and the script can appear on the far display while you film someone. Both work entirely on the device using information the system already provides about the hinge and the cameras; none of it is sent anywhere.
Purchases
Teleprompter is sold once, up front, through the App Store — there's no subscription and no in-app purchase. Apple processes payment; we never see your payment details or Apple Account.
If you contact us
If you email support, we receive your message and anything you attach. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem you describe, and we don't share it.
Crash reports
If you turn on Share with App Developers in your iPhone's Settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. These don't identify you, and we use them only to fix problems.
Children
Teleprompter is a production tool and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children — and as above, we don't collect information from anyone at all.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version added a feature that sent anything off your device — the change will be described here, with a new date, before it takes effect.
