Greens 1.3: Free to play

Greens is now free to play. The three Classic Courses and the Daily Three are free for everyone, and one purchase unlocks all thirteen theme courses.

It's been a lot of fun doing the Daily Three with my kids. Everyone gets the same random three holes each day. We also love to challenge each other to see who can get the lowest total score for each course. And we keep an eye on who has more aces, and check each other's stats to see who's ahead on medals and best rounds.

Free to start

Meadow, Lakeside and Village Green are free, and so is the Daily Three. That's 27 holes and a new round every day. More courses coming in future updates! The other thirteen courses, from Frost Hollow to Space Station, unlock together for $2.99. It's a one-time purchase, shared with your family through Family Sharing.

Greens 1.2 came out earlier this month, so here's what it added too.

Every hole can be aced

Every hole in Greens now has at least one way to drop it in a single shot, from the windmills on Tulip Fields to the cannon on Rickety Docks. Some holes only needed a small change, like a softer ramp, a reshaped pond or a cup moved a little to one side.

Two new balls

Pearl is earned for acing 72 different holes. It has a soft, pearly glow on the felt. Prism, the rainbow ball, is for acing the 144 holes in the game, so it's the last one you'll earn. The Gold ball also picked up a touch of shine.

Every ball now keeps its own record: holes played, aces, average and best round. Your stats also show which ball you used on each hole in one.

Made for iPhone Duo

Open iPhone Duo and the whole hole fills the big screen. On the closed screen and in Split View, the clubhouse buttons move into the side bar, so the course has more room.
